WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EMM-TECH and the EMMETT TECHNIQUE?
Emm-Tech is available to the general public. It is a short eight-hour course taught by qualified Emmett Technique tutors. Emm-Tech is taught in simple terminology and is easy to learn. No anatomy and physiology or previous education is needed. Moves for arms, legs, neck and shoulders releases are taught and may be used for self-help or to aid family and friends in discomfort. Practitioners may attend an Emm-Tech short course to gain an insight into the full practitioner course of the Emmett Technique.
Emmett Technique is for qualified therapists of any bodywork modality. This course is taught by qualified instructors and a total of nine days training completes the six modules available. These are usually completed in two-day seminars over a 12-18 month period. Existing therapists introduce the technique into their clinical learning’s. Changes may be observed in clients before they leave the clinic.
WHO CAN DO EMM-TECH?
Emm-Tech is open to the general public or those interested in some simple effective muscle releases to self-help or to aid family and friends. Coaches, Personal Trainers, sports people or those caring for others also benefit from knowing these easy muscle releases. Qualified therapists may also attend for an insight into the potential of the full Emmett Technique courses, they also benefit by adding these moves into their treatments.
WHO CAN LEARN THE EMMETT TECHNIQUE?
Any qualified therapists working in the bodywork industry. To date many practitioners from Massage, Occupational, Bowen and Physiotherapists, Doctors, Nurses, Acupuncturists, Reiki and Reflexologists and Kinesiologists have added this valuable tool to enhance their practices.
CAN I DO A BLOCK FOR EMMETT TECHNIQUE? (ALL MODULES ON SUCCESSIVE DAYS)
The Emmett Technique is taught in two-day seminars with a 2-3 months break between courses.
The first seminar contains modules 1 and 2.
The second seminar has a review day on module 1 and 2 work with module 3 on the second day.
The third seminar reviews moves from modules 1, 2 and 3 and module 4 on the second day.
This is the format through to module 6 completion. The review days are to assess the skills and understanding of the therapist prior to learning new work.
The six modules are not taught in block as the therapists would not gain the skill level or understanding in six days to effectively master the technique.
This course structure is designed to maintain this standard of the practitioner.
