It's been a number of years since I first learnt the Emmett technique. This work has brought astounding results over time and continues to do so.
This week I finished treating a lady for her follow up treatment, as a hairdresser she had a number of issues.
Her main concern was her shoulder discomfort as a result of repetitive use. In this case I used the shoulder sequence learnt in EP1; she reported that her shoulder was 'fantastic' with no problems as she gleefully demonstrated her new range of pain free movements.
This same lady brought her 87 year old mother for treatment. She had been suffering with sciatic pain for five weeks, for three of those weeks she described the pain as excruciating. At the time I noticed she had a support bandage around her knee and a brace over her hand. She told me that her knee was 'bone on bone' and that her thumb was also painful as a result of osteoarthritis. I offered to assist her with these, she accepted.
As I was assisting her to lock in Psoas, her daughter excitedly exclaimed 'Mum you could not even do anything like that before!'
Her mother walked around the room in disbelief at her ease of movement and reduced pain levels.
I bring to mind Ross's shared insight about 'how light do you touch?' 'How soft do you press to test a sponge cake when it's cooked?'
These words ring so true, the results phenomenal as well as the feelings under your finger tips!
